Introduction to Catholic mission articles:

Catholic mission articles are written under the premise that the Catholic internet mission is only a support mission to the official and universal Catholic mission. The objective of these mission articles is to inform and educate the Catholic in general, and also, the Catholic website owners as regards the teaching of Catholic Internet Ethics and how it can be applied in the building and development of web sites. Though Catholic mission articles are based on these documents on the Internet written by the Church, they also include excerpts and reflections on the interpersonal way of doing mission in the universal Church as a whole.

In the Index given below are two types of articles: those that pertain to the tradition of interpersonal ways of fulfilling the universal Catholic mission; and those that refer to the mission of proclaiming the gospel online through the medium of the Internet.

Catholic mission articles index:

The following mission articles deal with principles taken from John Paul II's encyclical "Redemptoris Missio"

Original articles on the Catholic mission in the Internet:

Given below are the first 5 articles of the internet mission articles. The content in these articles are based on the experience of communicating online with Catholics and non-Catholics. The principles from which they are based upon are from the documents of the Church that teach on the Internet its use for Catholic evangelization.

Mission and Holiness:

The late John Paul II taught the Church that mission goes hand in hand with the universal call to holiness. He explains and teaches that one can not be without the other. And indeed, he taught this by word and by action. His ministry as shepherd of the Church brought him to a very missionary-oriented task of bridging ties and bonds with many nations and with many religions - emphasizing very much the need for Christian unity and for interreligious dialogue.

The ideal of mission and holiness in the spirituality of the Church was also excellently personified by Blessed Teresa of Calcutta - whom Pope John Paul II beatified. This simple nun from Albania showed how integrating missionary life with the universal call to sanctity and holiness will greatly impact and attract people to the Christian life: eventually leading them to be committed members of the Catholic church.

It is in this context that the article, Mission and Holiness was written. This article teaches us that the Christian life is best lived when the spirituality of mission and holiness is made the active element of being Catholic.
